Noticing that... facebook can be fun, but only after you remove 14 blogs from the to-read list to make the time...got friends?
Pondering these words... "Quilting by machine has changed the time required to make a quilt. By hand, the process takes time. Any task or hobby that requires a long time from start to finish is profitable for character development. When a person learns to delay gratification for a better reward in the end, he or she develops patience. Patience helps us when we find ourselves in situations that are beyond our control." from the book I am currently reading...listed above
From the kitchen... hopefully lots of deer venison...first day of whitetail in Pa.
and I have 4 in the field
Around the house... craft supplies and pretty red and white lights
One of my favorite things~ is working on my lap piece currently tightened in my hoop
From my picture journal...
16 kind notes:
Good Morning, Peggy!
It's so nice to be back doing the Daybook after taking a 3 month blogging break. I'm with you on getting back to doing more from scratch again. I haven't made bread in ages, but with the cooler weather here I've been baking more and bread is coming this week.
Your writing about getting back to things you used to do instead of "looking for yourself" made me think of a scene from the Wizard of Oz (hope you've seen the movie) when Dorothy says "if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard."
Ya know you have had me thinking on all these things too these past few months and I've come to realize that to find myself, I don't have to look all over the place and try or do all kinds of new things....everything I need to be, all that I am is right here within my own reach....within my own home. (these are really thoughts to myself, so I hope they make a bit of sense to you)
As always, thanks for the encouragement.
Love,
~~Anne

Anne,
Oh, you and I are such kindreds...for sure dearest. You are always there, you always have been there and I feel in my heart, you will always be there. And yes, Dorothy... I remember that and it is so true. I think (now) since I am out of my slump that this is a trick from satan to get us a little fluffed in our thinking and uses for sure the discontent that sometimes creeps in on all of us. Perhaps I am a bit too strong willed for that and that is why it lasted only a few short months...I knew deep inside that these thoughts were NOT sitting correctly with me... I am so grateful that I saw the forest for the trees and that my faith was strong enough to get out of there. Reason I closed the list down, the "searching" for me stopped and now praise God, I am seeing the old in the most beautiful new ways...make sense? WE must chat...email me or write...and I will do the same...this week!!! So good to see you posting again. MUST LOVE!
This is my first day doing the daybook, I hope I did everything right, thank you for make me think about this beautiful life the Lord has given us.
What you shared from David Jeremiah's book is so true. I have come to the conclusion that no one will ever truly know us completely except our creator. Somehow at this point in my life I am learning to be more content with that. (Isaiah 43:1-2)
I was just reading this morning in Ecclesiastes. I was reminded of these verses as I read through your daybook: Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 5:19-20.
Enjoyed your daybook and hope you have a great day!
Wow! Congrat's on having the will and losing yet another dress size.
I have really enjoyed reading your daybook on this afternoon.
btw/ you made perfect sense with the side note on going back to making things from scratch.
Blessings,
Eevee
Your post was such an encouragement to me today!
Thanks for sharing...
I need to work on looking my best, even at home. :)
I made my first daybook post today. I am excited about being a part of this community. I have already found such inspiration here. I accidently "linked" my post wrong the first time so my name shows up in the list twice. Sorry! Thanks for providing this outlet for us Peggy!

I've been dealing with Writer's block for the past few months and this has been a great way to just feel rejuvevnated!
Hello Peggy, I love your note to yourself ;)
Have a lovely and blessed week, fellow Daybookers!
Best, Kathy
Hi, This is my first time in joining you for this fun exercise. I just found your site the other day. So glad I did.
I love your banner photo and enjoyed reading your daybook entries today.
Amazing what arises when you let the prompts guide your thoughts.
Such interesting reading, Peggy! I love all of the details. Reading your post made me thankful I am home, and can enjoy it!
How fun to get back to daybooking again with everyone! Thanks so much for keeping this wonderful tradition alive.
I don't like traditional sweats either but I do wear my Juicy black sweatsuit everywhere, especially for traveling. It is my quick go-to outfit most days. I hope (or maybe it's just the self-delusion talking LOL) that I look kinda pulled together in a "sporty" way in it.
Thank you for hosting a wonderful "thing"....I hope I did this right...lol.
Thank you for allowing me to take part in "The Simple woman's Daybook." Abundant blessings to you from the Philippines! ^_^
Your daughter is beautiful. It's wonderful to lose weight. I have never been over a size 14 but I have always struggled with my weight. I want to lose the ten lbs. I have recently gained. I made a hamburger soup Sunday. I call it veg beef. I would like to know how you make yours. I will look to see if it's on your blog. I hope you have a wonderful week. Doylene
